WHY THE KÄLLA MICROBIOME TEST?
Via our partner lab at the Medical University of Vienna, we have access to the most modern technologies (16S Next-Generation DNA Sequencing). This means we are able to analyse over 1500 different bacterial species, including non-culturable bacteria.
This allows us to report on which and how many bacteria are present in your gut microbiome, and give you personal dietary recommendations based on your unique profile. Based on your results, we will build your health profile, giving you advice on how to optimise your wellbeing.

02 TAKE THE TEST

You take your stool sample comfortably and discreetly from home. After you have taken the sample and activated it (via the KÄLLA website), send it back to us with the prepaid return envelope included in your kit.

MODERN METHODS
As soon as we receive your sample, it is processed in our partner laboratory and analysed using the latest 16S-Next-Generation-DNA-Sequencing methods. You'll receive your results within 4-6 weeks.

We have selected the Medical University of Vienna as our partner laboratory, due to their use of Next-Generation DNA Sequencing.
This gives us the unique ability to analyse and report on the genetic information of every bacterium in your stool sample.
Our microbiome tests are trusted and scientifically recognised, with double ISO certification.
FAQs
The KÄLLA Microbiome Test can be a useful tool to help you get to know your gut.
Your results will help you understand what and how much of each bacteria species you have in your gut and whether you are in a normal range for that species.
You will also get dietary and lifestyle tips to help you optimise the functions of your gut bacteria, and understand to what extent your gut bacteria protects you from certain health conditions.
We currently only offer the Microbiome Test results in English.
From receiving your sample at the lab, it will take 4-6 weeks to deliver your results. You will be notified via email when your results are ready.
No, you do not need to change your diet. Eating as you normally do, allows us to give you the most accurate results.
However if you are experiencing any unusual gastric symptoms, have just undergone surgery, or if you’re currently taking antibiotics, we advice waiting several months before you take the KÄLLA Microbiome Test.

When you use our platform, we collect personal data, such as your name, your email address and information about web behaviour (e.g. your IP address). We collect genetic and lifestyle information through the stool sample and the survey results that you provide to us.
how we save your data
SECURITY AS A PRIORITY
Your personal data is stored in a high security data centre in Vienna (AT). Your personal data will be assigned an identification number for identification and customer service.
KÄLLA partners with Austria-based company Mybioma. They use industry-standard security measures to encrypt sensitive personal data at rest. We exclusively use HTTPS with TLS 1.2 certificate to encrypt all data in transit.
FURTHERING RESEARCH
AND SCIENCE
Your genetic and lifestyle information will be stripped of any personal identification data and transferred to our research environment, where it will be stored with your survey response data. This data is only collected in order to make it available to science and to further develop our own algorithms.
CONNECT WITH A SPECIALIST
Take a deep dive into your test results with our dietician for an additional fee. In a 20-minute video call, you can go through your personal report and ask questions in relation to your gut health status. Available at an additional fee, upon receipt of your results.
